"Wonderful first-time trip to Alaska! What a great way to experience the enormity of our largest state. Now that I'm home and discussing the trip, I realize how much I did and how much I got to see - truly the trip of a life-time for me."
~ Linda M.

Day 1: Get an early start this morning and take a taxi to meet your motorcoach bound to Denali National Park. Arrive at the Egan Convention Center located on 5th Avenue between E and F Streets by 6:30 a.m. for check in. The 237-mile trip north provides scenic byways and, weather permitting, excellent views of Mt. McKinley (Denali) en route to the park.

You will arrive at the Denali Rail Depot around noon, where you will meet with your naturalist guide from Camp Denali. Board a private bus as you journey along the restricted-access Denali National Park road. Along the way, enjoy active sightseeing for wildlife and awe-inspiring scenery, while your learn about the compelling natural and cultural history of the park.

Tonight's dinner will be served en route, with a welcome dessert reception at the lodge. Overnight at Camp Denali. (D)

Day 2 & 3 (or longer): After a hearty breakfast in the lodge, choose between guided or self-guided activities. Hike, birdwatch, and observe wildlife with trained naturalist guides on the tundra; or set out on an independent adventure of canoeing in Wonder Lake or biking along the park road. Casual fishing in Moose Creek or Wonder Lake is also available. Lunches are enjoyed in nature during your day's activities, while dinner is to be savored in the main lodge, as you share stories of the day's adventures with other guests. Overnight at Camp Denali. (B, L, D)

Last Day: An early breakfast will be provided in the lodge before you bid farewell to Camp Denali. Enjoy another wildlife and sightseeing drive out of the park this morning, and arrive at the Denali Depot area before noon. This afternoon, you will board the historic Alaska Railroad for scenic rail travel through Alaska's backcountry areas as you return to Anchorage (or Fairbanks, upon request). Lunch and dinner are available for purchase on the train. Transfers and overnight accommodations in Anchorage are not included. (B)

Ask us about extending your stay in Denali. We can easily delay your Railroad reservation by a day or two so you can stay in or near Denali and enjoy this majestic park on your own schedule. Or venture south to the Kenai Peninsula and add a stay at our boat-in-only Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge, our newest lodge located within the boundaries of Kenai Fjords National Park.

We do not expect any major changes from this schedule. However, in the spirit of adventure travel there may be itinerary changes unforeseen and out of our control. Please read Alaska Wildland Adventures' Important Disclosures.
